Beyond Achievement: Motivation-related Evidence from a Partnership Between ... By AnneMarie M. Conley, Stuart Karabenick, Juliane Blazevski, Jeanne Friedel, David Pagni, MSP Evaluation Summit, September 15, 2005.

Teachers Assisting Students to Excel in Learning Mathematics (TASEL-M) has been developed by a partnership that includes California State University-Fullerton, the Orange County Department of Education, Orange Unified School District, Fullerton Joint Union High School District, and Garden Grove Unified School District. TASEL-M is a standards-based, data-driven program designed to improve students' academic performance in mathematics by giving their teachers the knowledge and tools to accurately diagnose students' deficiencies, assess their progress, adjust the curriculum and pedagogy, and transform the departmental culture to maximize student learning in mathematics. The partnership seeks to improve the mathematics performance of 14,000 students (approximately 70% of these students are from underrepresented minority groups) at four low-performing high schools and seven feeder middle schools.

The Principal Investigator of TASEL-M is David Pagni. More information can be found on a separate web site created by this project: http:// taselm.fullerton.edu.

This site was created to enhance communication and collaboration between partners within the TASEL-M project as well as to inform the public of the efforts of the Math and Science Partnership Program. While selected documents in the library and resources sections have been made available to the public, only logged in members of the TASEL-M project can post comments, participate or read posts in the Working Groups, or see the interactive Calendar.
